Pre-Trip Preparation

MAY 8, 2010
Border Buddies Ministries, Inc. that operates in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras is involved in helping people realize a better future. Short-Term mission teams have been working on a public school in Barrio Rincon - replaced roofs, repainted and built a two story building that has a cafeteria on the first floor and on the second floor there is a computer lab and offices for the director and a staff meeting room. That project, started four years ago has just recently been completed.

We are now moving on to a new renovation project at Fuerzas Armadas.

Mission Team #8 began to form in the fall of 2009 as word started to go out. I searched for a date in late spring that would accommodate people, and be able to fit in between a very busy church schedule. We began to have people sign up, establish meeting times and begin the task of raising funds.

We will be in Tegucigalpa from May 13 through May 23. Our task will be to remove the roof from a three-classroom building and get it ready to receive a second floor. This is a pretty ambitious project. The 10 people on this team are really eager to get there and begin the work. But even more than that, we are looking forward to meeting a whole new team of teachers at the new school and a whole new student body to interact with.
